Read between the lines…

So yesterday, changes did happen, and I tried to amend some of the bad habbits. I went for a swim after work and put a bit of exercise through the body. The steam room was fun, if not for being obscenely warm.  But, it is a start none the less.

During the day, more water was had, and thats important as I suspect thats a big one, I’ve missed from being good. I also managed breakfast, the chrunchy nut cornflakes, in an attempt to cut the amount of breakfast crap.

Lunch is more of a challenge as not been ready to make and prep, so thats the next one. But with honesty in mind that’s next week at the earliest.

So, it feels a bit of a mixed bag and keeping the head above water, but its treading water. More foundation blocks to be bulit and deployed and then a step change.

Cheers

Another week…

Hello,

Another week, and weekend survived… By and large, its been positive and food hasn’t been too bad. It was nice to refuse a creme egg from Matt. I guess, I ‘ve been more organised, and the morning routine has been adjusted to allow it to work.

Hey ho. Off to to the gym I go.

Cheers

Steve

End of the first working week…

So made it to the end of the week which is nice. The most appealing part has been that we’ve walked each day, and the milage has improved each day. Coffee switch made to Americano vs any milky coffee which is a step in the right direction. Next week sees the return to the sheep.

So this year, there is a motivation and a point. Not content with being huge this year, I’ve got a road trip planned in for later in the year which see’s me off to the USA. As part of this, it’s going to be hot hot hot, and there are also a number of roller coasters etc. As such, it won’t do me any harm to fix it. A few diet changes already filtering in, last huzzah tomorrow with food as part of a birthday and then we are done. Back on plan, to get on track

Wish me luck, going to need it.

Bullying / Cajoling / Encouraging?

Not sure which one it was but it was agreed that there is a 500m rowing challenge. Its currently being linked too from work, and is being used to build more interest in the Invictus games. Its fair to say from a fitness point of view I’ve fallen off a cliff, and landed in cake, lots of cake….. Recent events with the parents (one heart attack later) has shone some light onto unhealthy living , and for that I get an A*.

As such it was deemed good by Chris, that I should attempt the rowing…. it was an effort. I warmed up in the gym, treadmill, kettle bell etc, then onto the rower. A concept 2 with computer 5 if it makes a difference… Resistance set to 10.

The first minute was ok, and 300 meters covered in 1:03 so it was looking good, and projected roughly a 1:40 for the 500 spilt. Then its fair to say it went wrong, and I only can assume I was punched in the face, as I needed to stop and breath. I rested for 2 pulls before back on it, but my god it was hard work and only half pulls were happening. The end result:

500 meters took 2:02

So there you go I did it, and plan to rerun this at the end of the week to see if there is a change….. wish me luck….

Last weekend was the annual trip to Stirling – Touch

so last weekend saw the usual trip to Stirling to go and play touch. Slightly different this year in that Eva decided to come along and see what it was about. I’d explained it might be a little dull, but hey , she decided to tough it out. First up (and above) Stirling University and its hotel is very good as a value option. There is also the chance to walk about with a nice loch on campus.
Sadly the weather during the weekend, was shall we say, some what variable!. Sun, Rain, Thunder, Lightening, Hail, Snow…. everything….  Organizers of the event also had to contend with a lightening strike to the posts which lead to match abandoned!
On balance good fun, if not a little tiring.
