Bullying / Cajoling / Encouraging?

Not sure which one it was but it was agreed that there is a 500m rowing challenge. Its currently being linked too from work, and is being used to build more interest in the Invictus games. Its fair to say from a fitness point of view I’ve fallen off a cliff, and landed in cake, lots of cake….. Recent events with the parents (one heart attack later) has shone some light onto unhealthy living , and for that I get an A*.

As such it was deemed good by Chris, that I should attempt the rowing…. it was an effort. I warmed up in the gym, treadmill, kettle bell etc, then onto the rower. A concept 2 with computer 5 if it makes a difference… Resistance set to 10.

The first minute was ok, and 300 meters covered in 1:03 so it was looking good, and projected roughly a 1:40 for the 500 spilt. Then its fair to say it went wrong, and I only can assume I was punched in the face, as I needed to stop and breath. I rested for 2 pulls before back on it, but my god it was hard work and only half pulls were happening. The end result:

So there you go I did it, and plan to rerun this at the end of the week to see if there is a change….. wish me luck….
